“As a covenant people we have the responsibility to care for, protect, and properly clothe our bodies. We must help our children and youth understand that we respect our bodies as temples and as gifts from God.” Mary N. Cook (via return-to-virtue)

“Grace is a massively uncomfortable idea. This idea of “I didn’t earn this, I don’t deserve it, but you are giving it to me anyway”. A lot of people get bogged down in little details of the Bible, specifically in the Old Testament and Revelation, to avoid engaging the discomfort that I don’t like myself very much but God says He loves me.”

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the aflesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

“… Make every decision you contemplate pass this test: “What does it do to me? What does it do for me?” And let your code of conduct emphasize not “What will others think?” but rather “What will I think of myself?” Thomas S Monson

“You can be excellent in every way. You can be first class. There is no need for you to be a scrub. Respect yourself. Do not feel sorry for yourself. Do not dwell on unkind things others may say about you. Polish and refine whatever talents the Lord has given you. Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, but with great and strong purpose in your heart. Love life and look for its opportunities.”

Gordon B. Hinckley

“Of course we cannot fully comprehend all this right now! Of course we cannot know the meaning of all things right now. But we can know, right now, that God knows us and loves us individually!” Neal A Maxwell

Life starts… now.

surgereutlibertatem:

You fell down again. You feel empty and forgotten. You’re running from your feelings—you’re sick of the hurt you feel inside. You might be crying. You’re hurt. You’re on the ground, and the weight of the world is on your shoulders. You’re broken and you are waiting for someone to come along and decide you’re worth it to save. You don’t feel that you are, though.

Life is a fight. And you need to carry on. Now’s your chance for change, to create a new life from the one you’ve lived so long, and to discover just how strong you are inside. All the pain and hurt and anger you feel, you can take them and give them away. You can take it and give it to Christ, who took all of it on Himself to give you a chance to get back to the one place where pain and sorrow will never tear you down again.

You will make it through this. Life doesn’t start at any particular time. Life starts when you decide to give it to something bigger than yourself. Life starts NOW.
