timiperer replied to your post: I just want someone to explain to me why we have to deal with abuse and cruelty to make progress in this life. And - outside of the agency thing - why God doesn’t interfere with the works of Satan full-force.
Because God would cease to be God if He did that. How so?
Alma 42:25
25 What, do ye suppose that amercy can rob bjustice? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God.
There are “Laws” which God has to live by. For example, Mercy and Justice.
When we accepted God’s Plan to come down to this Earth we accepted the fact that some of us would be poor and some rich. Some would be healthy and some sickly. Some would have greater trials than others. We accepted THAT plan.
That we would have Free Agency and we knew that God would not interfere in our lives. Now, if we accepted that Plan, and God tried to interfere in our lives, He would be showing Mercy, but Mercy CANNOT rob Justice. God would be going against the Law. Every law has its consequences for people who break them. For God, that would be ceasing to be God.
Would that be Just? To take away our Freedom of Choice? We clearly chose to come down to Earth and live a life without “interference”, so if he did interfere he would be going against our choice.Alma 42:30
30 O my son, I desire that ye should deny the ajustice of God no more. Do not endeavor to excuse yourself in the least point because of your sins, by denying the justice of God; but do you let the justice of God, and his bmercy, and his long-suffering have full sway in your heart; and let it bring you down to the dust inchumility.
God IS Merciful. God is Just. And we have chosen to follow His plan.
So instead of blaming Him, let’s turn to Him for Comfort and for Love.
John 14:27-28
27 aPeace I leave with you, my bpeace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be ctroubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come againunto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I agounto the Father: for my bFather is greater than I.
