“[God] has power to institute laws to instruct the weaker intelligences, that they may be exalted with Himself, so that they might have one glory upon another, and all that knowledge, power, glory, and intelligence, which is requisite in order to save them in the world of spirits.” Joseph Smith Jr

“Although that testimony can continue to be fed spiritually and to grow as you study, as you pray for guidance, and as you attend your Church meetings each week, it is up to you to keep that testimony alive. Satan will try with all his might to destroy it. Throughout your entire life you will need to nurture it. As with the flame of a brightly burning fire, your testimony—if not continually fed—will fade to glowing embers and then cool completely. You must not let this happen.” Thomas S Monson

“As with anything in life, much of what you take from your seminary experience depends on your attitude and your willingness to be taught. May your attitude be one of humility and a desire to learn. How grateful I am for the opportunity I had as a teenager to attend early-morning seminary, for it played a vital role in my development and the development of my testimony. Seminary can change lives.” Thomas S Monson

“And truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come.” Doctrine and Covenants 93:24 (via irrelephantae)

“I have come to realize over the years that it is only through the power of the Holy Ghost that we can bridge the gap between uncertainty and certainty.” From an April 1998 conference talk by E. Turley Sr. (via randomconferencetalk)

“The Church has given us the Word of Wisdom as a guide to keep body and spirit in the most perfect shape possible to realize our desire and goal. So we keep our bodies healthy and improve them. All this from the knowledge that we will take them up again after death in the same form”

Dieter F Uchtdorf

mormonrants:

this is a PERFECT explanation of how I feel about testimony

In a way, this almost makes it look like it’s saying “Oh well eventually everyone finds an excuse…”
To me, it’s saying that faith doesn’t come easily for everyone. For some people, they have it in a flash. For others it takes years of hard work and desire and hope.
At the bottom it reads, “Realize that spiritual experiences are common across a wide range of spiritual beliefs and religions; Conclude that religious belief is complex and doesn’t conform to easy black-and-white, true-or-false thinking; Accept the fact that the absolute truth can’t be determined through this process and that belief will always be bracketed by faith,” which I think ought to be bigger. At the end of the day, faith will show you the way.
