Quote
"What we want is eternal life in families. We don’t just want it if that is what works out, nor do we want something approaching eternal life. We want eternal life, whatever its cost in effort, pain, and sacrifice"

— Henry B Eyring

Quote
"This is not the time to relax or to coast in our callings."

— M. Russell Ballard, October 1998 General Conference (via irrelephantae)

Quote
"There will be times when you will face challenges which might jeopardize your testimony, or you may neglect it as you pursue other interests. I plead with you to keep it strong. It is your responsibility, and yours alone, to keep its flame burning brightly. Effort is required, but it is effort you will never, ever regret."

— Thomas S Monson

mormonrants:

this is a PERFECT explanation of how I feel about testimony

In a way, this almost makes it look like it’s saying “Oh well eventually everyone finds an excuse…”
To me, it’s saying that faith doesn’t come easily for everyone. For some people, they have it in a flash. For others it takes years of hard work and desire and hope.
At the bottom it reads, “Realize that spiritual experiences are common across a wide range of spiritual beliefs and religions; Conclude that religious belief is complex and doesn’t conform to easy black-and-white, true-or-false thinking; Accept the fact that the absolute truth can’t be determined through this process and that belief will always be bracketed by faith,” which I think ought to be bigger. At the end of the day, faith will show you the way.

"No pain will last forever. It is not easy, but life was never meant to be either easy or fair. Repentance and the lasting hope that forgiveness brings will always be worth the effort."

Quote
"It seems that some [Latter-day Saints] among us have the same problem: They want bountiful harvests—both spiritual and temporal—without developing the root system that will yield them. There are far too few who are willing to pay the price, in discipline and work, to cultivate hardy roots."

— Spencer W Kimball
